But among the first time tourist to SriLanka and those who with not enough time on thier hands Kalpitiya may not seems like the most obvious choice.so this has to be put on the tourist radare and should developed the facilities in the destination .

  Due to the massive tourisam development project implimented for Kalpitiya ,the locals are in a fear of loosing their lands.People over here use to lead a very simple lifestyle which is bonded with the sea.whenever the sea washed their huts away,they used  to simply move futher inland and started their day today lifestyle . At that time there  were no barriers to use the land and they used it as they wish.But now the senario is changed.The land has taken over for a goverment tourisam project and fence erected and gates locked for them. What is (KITRP)?

  Fourteen islands in the Kalpitiya peninsula have been identified for the Kalpitiya Integrated Tourism Resort Project (KITRP), which is one of the most extensive project undertaken in the country to generate environmental friendly sustainable tourism .
